Forgiveness and freedom

Being free to accomplish our mission

What must yet be liberated within us in order to help others liberate themselves?

The love of Christ for man is immense, it is incomparable. He loves us because He knows who we are.

The apostles and the first disciples faced the same struggles as you. They also knew that they weren’t living role models, that they were imperfect… They knew what they had done with their wife, brothers, father, mother, uncle…  They were very much aware of this non-example of love, but the fundamental is that Christ pushed and goaded them; it only takes a look at the parables of Christ to see how He was not weak with His apostles. He was firm, He told them things straight out, sometimes very severely, as when Peter said to Him: “I heard that you would leave us, that you would be killed!  But you have nothing to fear with me, I will be armed and no one will approach you…

- “Get behind me, Satan!”

Why? If we listen to Peter, he was full of good intentions towards Christ, but what intentions?  Primarily, intentions to intervene with the law that He, Christ, knew and that Peter did not know. If Christ accepted this, and had to warn them, it was that He had to, because in offering His Body, in offering His Life, He saved us all. And yet nobody, no human being other than He Himself could offer this sacrifice.

So this means that good intentions are often harmful - that is why I tell you to be vigilant. We must not intervene with the laws of God, for the only law is love.  Christ gave Himself; He gave His life for us, out of love for us. He loved us totally, wholly, without restriction. He gave all from His Life. Therefore we, as animators or responsible for houses, must give this force of love which Christ revealed to us.

He wants to tell us that not a single one of your cells can be alive if there isn’t love among you.  If your wives do not love you, if your children do not love you, if your father, your mother, your sisters or brothers do not love you, then you cannot live. The love of Christ is Life, and each one of your billions of cells lives through love, it is only there to testify to the love of God.

As beings, your lives belong to you; but they don’t belong to you because they belong to nobody, and nobody belongs to us. Love renders freedom. The apostle Paul explains it, and it means we are free. We are beings pampered by God, loved by Him, and as such we have things to do, and all of this work can only be done through loving one another. This love of Christ for man is immense, it is incomparable. He loves us because He knows who we are. And we are not just Erik or Pascal or Barbara or whoever, we are Children of God; we are the brother, the sister of Christ, we are his limbs, His mental activity, His heart, His soul, His arm; we cannot be separated and we must be proud of this.  Be happy at having been called, and inform others of this. It is pride, yes, but what pride! To sing Glory to Him who has created us, to Him who has given us life, that is worth all the rewards in the world.
