Let us look at our reality with honesty: which battles have we fought and which ones have we avoided?
You hang on to face new storms, but when we know that it is for the final victory, then we find all the courage that is necessary, don’t we? God gives us this necessary strength, day after day, doesn’t He? He heaps tenderness on us, He gives us time, He gives us everything that we need to live on this Earth. He wants us to become His dear, beloved children.
When we have said « yes » to God, I think it is forever. For Christ told us: “I will vomit up those who are lukewarm”. So let us create that inner silence, in which we can see if there are any signs of us still being lukewarm. May that silence prepare you for listening to the soul; may you forget all about your work, your family, your sentiments. Know that you are alone before God, with God at this moment, and He is in you. He speaks to you constantly, yet we do not know how to listen to Him. So may this silence favour that language which you are beginning to discover.
(Silence)
I need not say how happy I am tonight. You have all responded to the call and it is to progress on this path upon which you had started a few years ago. It is so that you may become what Christ wants you to be – servants – but what servants? We have plunged into a world of suffering. People are searching for freedom. Their oppression has lasted for tens or even thousands of years. Mankind’s subservience has been as slaves at the service of the one called the ‘sly one’. How well he knew to choose his flock and to work the minds of humans to his own advantage! How he attracted our attention with glitter and wanted us to be exalted so that he could crush us more easily… Nothing in humanity escapes his hands or his claws. Today, after pitched battles, you are hanging on to face new storms, but when we know that it is for the final victory, we find all the necessary courage, don’t we? Doesn’t God give us this necessary strength, day after day? He heaps tenderness on us, He gives us time, He gives us everything that we need to live on this Earth. He wants us to become His dear, beloved children. He wants this planet Earth to be prepared for a better world. For all of you who are here this evening, I very well know the inner battles you have fought, the difficulties that you have encountered amongst you, the clashes of personalities, the dualities, the sense of pride that rose to the surface to make you suffer. You wanted to do well and you did so. You made mistakes because you are human, and these mistakes have created a sense of guilt in you, as well as evasions and remorse. These torments must be erased for you to walk, to go further, for the Lord has never left things half-done. God is perfection itself, and He has given us everything so we may become perfect as well. He loves beauty, he has satiated us with the beauty of his creation, and you are all beautiful today.
We as human beings become beautiful when we start to accept ourselves, accept the bodies God has given us, just as we are, with our weaknesses and our strengths, with our handicaps… Yet He gives us something more. He gives us a new force so that we may sublimate, surpass ourselves. So, little by little, you have learned to quit your habits, to let go. It wasn’t easy to become aware of reality, of what you had to do, and the difference with what you have done…
