Do we accept being imperfect in the eyes of others?
We must love ourselves better in order to enable change. To love means accepting this male or female body, which we have chosen with God and his angels, to accomplish the mission which He gives us on earth. Humility means accepting others too, accepting that they castigate us; accepting that others are not perfect, because their imperfections will exercise our own humility.

"Tolerance and perseverance slowly bring us to a path so very narrow that two people cannot walk together. This narrow door is called humility, and humility is the door to paradise. I would love each one of you to pass through, one behind the other…"
Yvonne, conference at Caxambu (Brazil), November 22, 1993
God is manifesting Himself, more and more pressingly. We must truly act, raise ourselves from apathy, and not find every conceivable excuse for refusing to serve Him. We must be aware of the infinite love that He gives us. He knows each one of you, but He would so like you to be different… You have the means: all you have to do is ask. Just have that humility… What does humility mean? I don’t think you know what it means… It is accepting what God gives us to live, therefore accepting yourself. As long as we don’t do this, it is the master of this world, the prince, who destroys you.
To accede to the will of God is accepting who we are, accepting our fragilities, of course… Lord, if I am weak, You are strong; my weakness will become strength. Lord, if I need sleep, You are there, You are my sleep and I will no longer need any. If I lack prayers because of my apathy, or if I am angry with others, or if my family appals me, Lord make my prayer your own, give me the strength everyday to be closer to you.
Simply accepting our faults… We have faults, but if we do not know them, how can we heal them? So we must look at ourselves, but we do not change by punishing ourselves, rather by loving ourselves. We must love ourselves better in order to enable change. To love means accepting this male or female body, which we have chosen with God and his angels, to accomplish the mission which He gives us on earth.
Humility means accepting others too, accepting that they castigate us. It is accepting that others are not perfect, because their imperfections will exercise our own humility. It is accepting that others do not think as we do, and that they offer us things that we would not want to do. Yet if we accept, we accede to the divine laws.
You see, obedience is not stupidity, it is not saying amen to everything, as you have been told hundreds of times. It is finding yourself free, feeling free before God and before all of humanity. It is knowing that every morning when you wake up, it is a new day of freedom that God has given you to live. You are free to do what you like with that day, whether a day of grace or a day of anxiety.
Freedom is feeling your soul able to express itself at every instant, at every moment, and attending to your business without shielding your soul or closing its doors.
Humility is all that, it is being tender, learning to be tender… Stop with those abrupt voices on the telephone. Change your voice so that others hear your soul, rather than the chirping form your head. In our circle, our children, our neighbours, our friends, our families, it is feeling that we have a different way of being; otherwise what is the use of the road that you have travelled? It is truly all the dealings with others at our work, in the diligence of time in which we give ourselves to serve others. It is looking differently at each person, accepting what he is, his complexes and his difficulties, but knowing that if God has put him on your path, then it is to make you grow. What does that mean on a spiritual level? In each instance it is climbing a step of Jacob’s ladder. Without the difficulties of others, we would never be able to evolve spiritually in this world.
